What does a company need to improve its management? What tools are on the market? What should we consider? Who should be involved in making the decision? All these questions have been addressed during the session in which the advantages offered by free software and how to deal with the purchase and installation of this type of software have been explained. The President of the CIESC, Francesc García-Planes, who introduced the session, recalled that "one of the objectives of the CIESC is to contribute to the competitiveness of SMEs by disseminating the innovative tools that are available today, and free software deserves to be presented as a real, free and feasible alternative offered by the market".

For his part, the general director and co-founder of NaN tic, Albert Cervera, has reviewed the origin of free software and indicated examples of very popular programs that use this technology, such as Android, Chrome or OpenOffice to demonstrate that it is perfectly reliable . In fact, and according to data from the CENATIC Observatory, 91% of Spanish ICT companies already use free software.

Cervera explained to the attendees the importance of being able to analyze and test the product when evaluating the possible programs to be installed, since "the information obtained in this process will save many expenses at the time of acquiring the product". The person in charge of NaN tic has also assured that "you should never reject a solution out of hand for the simple fact of being free software" and in fact has remarked that "bet on software for which we have the source code It will allow the user to set the pace of the evolution of the program and not depend on the manufacturer or the distributor".
