One year ago we organized a speech at Parc Tecnològic del Vallès, in Cerdanyola, and we all were satisfied enough to repeat it. This time we aimed to offer an approach to business management, especially from a technological point of view.
The students of IES Carles Vallbona will work in class as if they were in a real company environment
During the following academic year, 80 students from the administration and management degree will use the same ERP that are using several companies in our country. It will allow a qualitative leap in their training because each student will personally verify the management processes in business and how this tools are designed to automate workflows. It's the main goal of the collaboration agreement signed between the managers of IES Carles Vallbona and NaN∙tic.
It's not easy and that was what we tried to explain at the speech co-organized with Cambra de Comerç d'Osona. The presentation was focused on the difficulties of selecting the correct ERP and we tried to give some tips to minimize the risk. Obviously, we explained our bet for the open source solftware compared to traditional solutions offered by major companies.
Our experience with customers who have suffered the process of selecting an ERP helped us to prepare an useful and practical conference. Albert Cervera insisted on the necessity of an exhaustive research and study of the different available options. He also underlined the importance of get as maximum information as possible for each solution. Finally he explained some business models based on software and warn about hidden links.
The Col·legi d'Enginyeries Tècniques i Grau en Informàtica de Catalunya (COETIC) embraced and helped us to organize a speech about the new trends in open source business management software (ERPs). The activity was held on 11th of March 11 and was attended by computer engineering professional interested in open source alternatives to traditional ERPs.
Unlike other activities we organize, this speech has technical content. It was focused in the architecture behind this type of software and language used. In addition, Albert Cervera detailed technological aspects that make Tryton different from the rest of ERP. Tryton is the ERP we recommend to our customers for their robustness, flexibility and its great capacity for evolution.
After the talk we invited attendees and staff of COETIC a small snack to dialogue and know their point of view and answer specific questions.
