Automate Electronic Invoice Sending

For several years now, electronic invoicing has been mandatory when working with public administrations, and since then, clients who needed it have been able to do so from Tryton.

However, sending the invoice file itself had to be done manually—usually through a website. Users therefore had to obtain the file generated by Tryton, access the portal and upload it there.

But that no longer has to be the case!

We now have an enhancement ready, funded by one of our clients, which integrates the electronic invoice we were already generating with an online platform.

Simply posting the invoice sends it to the gateway, with no user intervention required!

Sending electronic invoices between companies

On the other hand, the central government is developing regulations intended to extend the mandatory use of electronic invoicing to all invoices issued between companies and self-employed professionals (but not invoices to private individuals).

In theory, once it is published, companies with turnover of more than 8 million euros will have one year to adapt, while the rest will have two.

This measure could improve productivity by standardising the digital exchange of this information between companies, but we will see how it turns out. It remains to be seen how what the government intends to implement will fit together with electronic invoicing services provided by private companies, and how far the administration intends to take control.

What can I say? I am not enthusiastic about government mandates, especially when they are aimed at control, even if it is automated, because they also increase the complexity of dealing with the administration.

For instance, around 28 December last year, the government set new taxes to apply from January, yet the tax authorities still did not have the Immediate Supply of Information (SII) system ready on 9 January…

In any case, we are continuing to monitor the new regulations and will be ready to offer the best possible solution, seeking to reduce the number of repetitive tasks our clients have to carry out and to avoid having to do the same job twice.
