Students open their eyes and laptops to Tryton and open source

The computer science students at Jesuïtes El Clot have discovered open source. NaN-tic directly collaborated in two activities aimed at promoting interest in computer programming, and more specifically in the open and free technology we work with.

NaN-tic opened the Technical Computer Science Day, held on 14 March at the school’s premises in Barcelona, which also featured representatives of the companies Arduino (robots) and Nexiona (Internet of Things). Around 100 technology students listened to Albert Cervera’s presentation, focused on explaining open source and the business models behind it. In other words, NaN-tic’s co-founder explained how a company can be created and grown by offering its customers a free and open tool. The talk ended with a round-table discussion where the students’ questions were answered.

NaN-tic’s collaboration with Jesuïtes El Clot did not end there. The following week, Albert Cervera gave a masterclass on Tryton’s architecture, the open-source ERP that NaN-tic works with. The session was aimed at around twenty students taking a vocational course in multiplatform application development, where Tryton programming forms part of the syllabus. Tryton was the focus of Albert’s presentation, which explained how to create and modify ERP modules and how to work in a collaborative open-source environment.
