Integrating the management of different companies of a group: the mission of success of the TEB Cooperative Group

NaN-tic Apr 20, 2022

Sound familiar with managing several company operations with different non-integrated software? Sound familiar with having to gather and use fragmented and duplicate data in spreadsheets? Have you already realized that this is not only a waste of time but causes a high margin of error?

The TEB Cooperative Group decided to take the bull by the horns and integrate the operations in an ERP to be more agile and effective and work even better. Because its mission is valuable and it deserves it. But TEB's challenge was even greater than the one we have pointed out. Because it is a group of companies of different types. If the previous questions already sounded familiar, now imagine integrating the management of different companies in a group.

Integration, TEB's successful mission

The TEB Cooperative Group has as its driving motive is social and labor integration for people with intellectual disabilities. It is made up of eight cooperatives that, based on cooperative values, act to achieve an inclusive life for people with disabilities. The TEB cooperatives have set up five work centers specializing in different activities: packaging and handling, specialized cosmetic and food handling, food manufacturing, paint manufacturing, quality mushroom cultivation, proximity services, delivery, cleaning services, maintenance of gardening, work and maintenance of spaces, with more than 50 years of experience, offering quality products and services. The TEB Group employs almost 1,000 people, of which 650 are workers with disabilities (90% people with intellectual disabilities). They also have almost 200 people with intellectual disabilities cared for in occupational centers and 90 home-residence places and support services for autonomous living. In addition, they promote projects, offer sports activities, facilitate insertion in the ordinary company and other initiatives to support the different areas of a person's life, all so that people with intellectual disabilities occupy the place they deserve in society and have a good quality of life, with the greatest possible autonomy.

Everything we have gone through to integrate the management of the different companies in the group

TEB's special work centres enjoy the management of accounting and production processes with the Tryton ERP implemented by NaN-tic. Little by little, all the companies of the group are being implemented and the goal is to achieve the unified management of all the group's activities thanks to the ERP.

Integrating the management of different companies is a complex task. We interviewed Elisabet Roman to explain more about TEB and what the experience of working with NaN-tic is like.

1. What was the trigger that made you decide on the implementation of an ERP?

The new tax legislation entailed documentary obligations that the previous ERP was not able to carry out and, on the other hand, the complexity of the entity needed an ERP that could be versatile given the complexity of the various activities of TEB.

2. The implementation of an ERP is a delicate challenge for any company. What would we highlight about NaN-tic and how you work with consultants and developers?

Indeed, the implementation of an ERP is very complicated, doing work with NaN-tic has been easy and its consultants have always been close and proactive towards the needs of the entity. Having consultants who know the business and productive environment is very important to be able to speak the same language.

3. Are other challenges currently on the horizon of the TEB Cooperative Group?

As the Cooperative Group is a cooperative formed by 8 cooperatives, we have not yet been able to get all of them to work with the new ERP and we have as a challenge for 2022 to end the year throughout the entity under the same ERP. This is one of the objectives of our Strategic Plan 2022-2025 that we have started this year with great enthusiasm.

Integrating the management of different companies, indeed, is not achieved in a few weeks, so in NaN-tic we are proud of the very good work done together and very grateful for the trust that TEB placed in NaN-tic. We will continue to produce with the highest quality to make possible the goal of having all the cooperatives of the TEB group within the customized Tryton ERP.

If you also have the challenge of implementing an ERP for different companies together and you do not know where to start, do not hesitate, contact NaN-tic.
